Too many good ones! Staying a week in an old cabin with no power, playing games, going on hikes finding “bear poop” and scaring us girls when it was just deer poo, teaching me how to fish and what different parts an engine do though I still have no clue and only paid attention so we could have our one-on-one time. My (step)dad is a wonderful man and I live him dearly!
Some of my best memories with my dad are camping up at Lake Willowa.
My favorite memory of my Dad would be everyday waiting for him to come home from work. I would hide and jump out at him when he would come in the room. I am pretty sure that he was expecting me to be there but it was always fun.
Singing songs together while my Dad played the guitar!
Always being at our school events.
Working in the wheat harvest fields with my Dad.
Every year on my birthday and on his birthday, he would take me fishing. We would fish and talk and laugh and have a blast.
Spending weeknights after homework rebuilding my first dirt bike.
Going horesback riding in the Mountains with my dad.
The best memory I have of my dad and I together would be the time we spent together when we moved from Wisconsin to Washington state. We had all kinds of fun. We did some site seeing and just had a great time together.
canoeing! may dad was the scout master and he took me on a special trip when I was a Jr in high school it was wonderful.
Once I went to work on the farm with my dad. Unexpectedly, he needed to move a tractor a few miles down the road but had no one to drive his pick-up behind him. So he had me (age 7 at the time) get in. After a quick explanation of how a STICK SHIFT works, I assured him I was ready. Wrong! I ended up driving an extra few miles down the road until I could turn around without having to shift gears, all the while freaking out! About 3/4 of the way back, there he was… on his way to find me. Needless to say, I didn’t drive alone for quite some time. :)
My dad had the best smile! He loved to laugh and make people laugh. My best memories of my father are of his smile! <3
If it weren’t for Dave Miller, I wouldn’t have a “dad”
My biological father split when I was just a baby. I’ve never known him. My mother remarried and this man has been my “dad” ever since.
He has emotionally supported me, morally supported me, and financially supported me. He instilled hard work and ethics in me at a very young age. He also taught me the importance of school.
Once I turned 18, I was forced by law to use my biological father’s last name but he will never be my “dad.” As I graduate with my first college degree next Friday, I have hyphened my last name on my diploma to show my dad that it was HIM that taught me that hard work and determination will pay off.
I remind him every father’s day that it takes a true man to raise another man’s child as his own. And THAT is my favorite memory of my dad.
I loved going fishing with my dad when I was little… What am I talking about?… I still love going fishing with my dad!!!!
Playing T-ball in the backyard! The 4 of us loved to play with my dad, he would also push us around in a wheel barrel. It was fun :)
One of my favorite memories of my dad growing up, and my whole family really, is camping at the Oregon Coast every summer. It was something we looked forward to for months every year!
My Dad made the bestest hamburgers EVER. He built a fireplace in our backyard and used to cook hamburgers and hotdogs over the fire, then we would make sommores.
My dad would love to take us camping when we were younger (and still does). He would always make the best breakfast! He’d bring his griddle with him and make eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage—you name it. It was the best. He also loved to take us horseback riding and now he continues that tradition with his grandkids. Most of the grandkids refer to him as “Horse Grandpa”.
I was in 2nd grade at Holy Cross Catholic School, Euclid Ohio. We were suppose to make a bird house over the weekend. My dad wanted to help me make one using the bark off of a tree covering the outside of it. I hated it! It looked so different from everyone else “painted” bird houses….But my teacher loved it and I won the prize for “best bird house” – I couldn’t wait to get home and tell my Dad. Then I loved it :)
i remember visiting my dad in ohio! (parents divorced)
My favorite memory of my Dad is a collection of all the time we spent at the beach together – building forts, digging clams and beach combing for treasures washed up on the shore. There was never any rush… He seemed to make time stop <3
My favorite memory of my dad is when he would take me and my brother fishing!
I remember as a very young girl, my daddy coming home from the Vietnam war. He returned a hero, a Marine, with many honors. But to me, he was just my dad and I was so happy to have him back.He is still my hero , so many years later.
We are blessed to have a wondeful daddy…xo
My dad is a super outdoorsy guy and so he would always take us repelling on the mesa cliffs. To this day, we still talk about it and people are always asking for him to take them!
May best momories of my Dad were when he came home from over seas. He was gone must of the year so when he did come home it was like Christmas. Not because of the gifts, but because I had a Dad again. It was the best part of my childhood. Love you Dad.
My favorite memory of my dad is chopping wood with him – I think he secretly wished he had a son (he had 3 daughters), so I would sometimes play the son role. It was a good learning and bonding time. I love my dad!
My favorite memories have been the time spent in the KITCHEN with my dad. He taught me all of his tricks of the trade from baking the fluffiest rolls to cooking a juicy pot roast.
I never realized until I was older (and married) how incredibly rare it is to find a man who can not just cook, but cook delicious food. Because of him My pride and joy is cooking and something I am “known” for.
How many women can say," I’m the cook I am today because of my DAD!!" ?
Thanks dad! :)
Teaching me to dance by letting me stand tip toe on his shoes.
Going for a drive on a Sunday afternoon and stopping at the Dairy Queen for an ice cream cone. The whole family. What a treat!
