Adorable little frogs! Perfect for our garden!
When I was a child we had a big breakfast each of us would get an Easter basket with some candy and a Sunday outfit for each of us. We would have an egg hunt.
Now when we do egg hunts we don’t put candy in the eggs, we put rewards, one play date with dad, one bike ride, one day at he park, one back scratch etc. Service is what Christ taught so why teach our children that we get tons of candy and focus very little on the really reason Easter is actually a holiday?

Well the last two years have been a little different for Easter. 2011 will be my one and only daughters 3rd Easter. So our tradition is we of course wake up and have a yummy Easter breakfast made by me and then we get ready to attend church. We alternate between my daughter’s aunts church and her grandparents church. Then after Church we come home and I give her what the Easter bunny brought her and we have lunch. She takes a nap. Then we have some play time outside and then a light dinner and then some mom and daughter time and then bath time then a good Easter book that the bunny brought her and then bed time. I couldn’t ask for a better Easter. Actually any all all holidays with her are the best :)

Easter is always a warm inviting ham dinner at moms house. We bring side dishes and eat mounds of good filling food. Everything from hot rolls to potatoes from scratch.
Its all about being together these days for each other. Giving hugs, not about fighting or gossiping or complaining about your life. We just are so happy to be alive and be together. Its a good time to just be a family and love on another which we do.

We always get together with a very special family to us and make a great meal, have easter egg hunt and a big family baseball game. Its the best and hopefully our kids will cherish the memories like I do.

Easter traditional food is always, ham, sweet potato’s, scalloped potato’s, a collection of salads and of course hot cross buns and an assortment of pies/desserts. And lots of family gathered to enjoy food and visiting.

Easter is about spending time with family; while enjoying good food and good company.

My grandsons and grandaugther are to old they think to dye easter eggs and then go hunt them. So I go to their homes early in the morning of Easter and sneak them into their yards. I even hide an easter basket here and there.
They won’t admit it but I know they love it. And it also makes me happy to do it.

Our Easter tradition is to have dinner at my parent’s house. The kids search for Easter eggs in the backyard and play with their new toys the Easter bunny brought to them.

Easter egg rolling contest-after decorating the eggs, divide in brackets and then roll eggs against each other. The egg that cracks is out. Keep going until only 1 egg wins.

We always wake up and say a prayer. This is a religious holiday. The kids are excited to run and FIND their Easter baskets because the Easter Bunny always hides them in places like the oven, the dirty clothes basket or the dryer. They always have some treats and a new dress to wear to church. We attend church and then head over to grandma’s for ham and funeral potatoes(I know, it sounds weird but they are delish!). Following dinner is an Easter egg and candy hunt. Eggs have a few nickels and then lots and lots and lots of candy. This year will be a little different since we moved away from grandma. So, grandma is going to come to us and for the first time ever on Easter she will be coming to church with us.
