We’re starting a new tradition of spending a day during the holidays at a luxury hotel. We can all be together, shop, dine, and enjoy the spectacular holiday decorations.
Our favorite family tradition at xmas is watching all the old christmas movies from the beging of December until xmas. While we do that we drink hot cocoa and have a candy cane with it. We also make cookies and candies with the kids the weekend before xmas. And every year I’ve carried on the tradition of my great grandmother, she always made chex mix and gave to all the family at xmas brunch.
Merry christmas!!!
All the family parties and eating everyones goodies.

My favorite Christmas Tradition was listening to my Grpandpa read the Christmas story from the bible every Christmas eve then eating Cioppino as a family!! =)
We always have my dad’s family over on Christmas eve, where we do a chinese gift exchange, then on christmas morning we open presents in our home while listening to rock and roll Christmas music, then we go to my in-laws when we are done, then go to my mom’s on for smoked turkey sandwiches and presents on Christmas night! We are so stuffed full of good food and so much fun, with friends and family! It’s a long couple of days, but soooo worth it!
Merry Christmas!
Driving around to see the lights.
New favorite tradition? Elf on the Shelf, he keeps the boys in check
My favorite tradition is growing up starting on December 1, my parents would make a point of every night having a special family time were we would all read, sing songs, and play games. Also we’d go out about once a week to go “spotting” (looking for christmas lights). Now that all of us kids are grown up, we don’t do this every night anymore, but we do try and get together more to just spend time together during the holiday season.
Our favorite Christmas tradition is having all the family get together on Christmas Eve & stayimg up until midnight to open presents.
Making Christmas cookies with my kids and setting them out for Santa. Last year, my 2 yr old daughter was so proud of her cookies, that she cried when she woke up to see that Santa had taken a bite out of her cookie. Such a fun memory!
My favorite Christmas traditions are decorating the tree with the kids and driving around town to look at the Christmas lights
Every Christmas eve our family gets together for dinner then we drive around the towns listening to Christmas carols and looking at Christmas decorations. Then we come home and get into our Christmas pajamas (which we buy every year) leave cookies & hot chocolate out for Santa and go to bed waiting for Santa to come.
Going to my in-laws’ property and cutting down a tree.
Baking cookies for Santa. And the kids won’t let me forget to leave some carrots for the reindeer.

This is my husband’s first year out of the military so we are starting new traditions in our new home. Decorating our tree together, watching Christmas movies throughout December, setting up our Christmas village that was passed down to me by my Grandpa, and in a few weeks, Christmas breakfast before we open gifts
Our favorite tradition is baking German pastries from scratch using the recipes taught by my mother and then sharing with family and friends.
We always have chicken enchiladas on Christmas Eve.
Going around and looking at lights and doing Christmas countdowns with the kids.
Pie!!
Merry Christmas. The Mercantile always looks great.
I love attending the annual performance of the Nutcracker put on by the Mid-Columbia Ballet. It is a fantastic show each year.
I love making the plate of Christmas cookies for Santa with my 4 year old. She has to choose the perfect ones from the collection we’ve baked and arrange them just right for Santa. She won’t let us forget the milk and of course some carrots for the reindeer.
Frosting sugar cookies with the kids and delivering them to friends!
Opening pajamas on Christmas Eve!
Decorating gingerbread houses with the family
Decorating the Christmas tree with my family and driving around looking at the Christmas lights.
I love decorating the Christmas tree and making gifts for family and friends.
Driving around looking at Christmas lights on Christmas Eve
Merry Christmas! I loved doing exchange gifts with my siblings when we were little now that I have my own im carrying it over to my kids!
Singing in the church choir at the 10:30 p.m. candlelight service on Christmas eve. Tears stream as Silent Night is sung!
Oranges and Peanuts! it’s a must.
Enjoying the Christmas holidays by shopping at Country Mercantile and buying Yummies for family and friends who live in other states.
Each year, we build a new outdoor Christmas decoration and have our picture taken with it. Then each of us get into the sleigh with the santa, elf, or reindeer hat and get updated pictures. Then it’s inside for homemade cookies and hot chocolate.
On Christmas Eve I Make Rosettes, a deep fried Scandinavian cookie. They were always the last cookie made in my childhood home and I have carried on that tradition.
Driving through the city looking at the wonderful displays and Watching the little kids opening presents.
We read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve, then a story of Jesus’ birth on Christmas Day.
I love teaching my children the true meaning of Christmas. We spend time with toys for tots handing out presents or we go to the senior center and help with dishing out the food and hand out gifts to the people/children who are in need of a warm plate and a smile. My Children have some of their greatest Christmas memories by seeing the eyes of another light up with Gods love!!!
Watching holiday movies, listening to holiday music and wrapping gifts and so much more. Thanks!
Driving around to look at the lights on Christmas Eve.
My favorite tradition as a family is to drive around and look at Christmas lights. Hot chocolate is a must!

Love making sugar cookies with my husband and kids! And just spending time with family driving around looking at Christmas lights!
We Love to just drive around and look for lights and decorations! Best time of the year
Spending the day enjoying time with the family and having a nice dinner.
The first year my wife and I dated I found myself laid off and broke around Christmas. On Dec. 24th I was walking through Albertsons in Walla Walla (the only store open) with $5.00 and some change in my pocket trying to figure out what I could get her for a present. BUT, I had listened to what she liked! I knew she liked troll dolls, and I spoted two for .50 cents each. Then I saw a cookie tin for a dollar. Winds of a brainstorm were begining to blow! I looked down the isle and saw a display for Hersheys Kisses, HER FAVORITE CANDY! I bought what I could of the candy, got the trolls and the tin. At home I filled the tin with Kisses, and put the trolls in the tin also. Then I wrote a note saying Hugs and Kisses were all these trolls and I could afford this year. I wrapped the present the best I could and gave it to her Christmas morning. SHE LOVED IT! And every year since I have always given a new troll doll and some Hersheys Kisses as one of her presents. We started our own tradition! Oh, by the way, we will celabrate out 17th weeding anniversary next July. Merry Christmas Everyone.
I love making divinity with my daughter. So fun and yummy!
Going to church on Christmas Eve and coming home and eating a big meal and opening presents with the family!
It’s stories like troll guy that makes it the best time of year
For the last ten years now, every Christmas Eve, our family gets together & orders take-away from Chinese Gardens in Pasco, set up the spread at home and after we eat, we open presents.
Merry Christmas!
Our family does a shake box present … one present under the tree that we are allowed to shake. If we guess what it is, we get a prize! And the shaker present .. but usually that’s kind of a gag gift.
My favorite tradition is a fairly new one, my family and I get together with the adults and kiddos and go shopping for things to go into Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. With lists in hand and kiddos in tow, the kids pick out the stuff for the boxes. Back to the house to put the boxes together, while eating cookies and listening to Christmas music!
It use to be the big family get togethers, but our family has shrunk over the years with the passing of parents, etc.
We are starting new traditions like driving around looking at the Christmas lights and making cookies and giving them away.
My Favorite tradition is putting up a small branch decorated in remembrance of when it was just me and my father and we didn’t have much to decorate with or to gift each other. He was gone late and I cut a branch off of our tree outside and put small plastic decorations on it that I got from the dollar store. When he got home, he woke me and thanked me with a hug. Been doing that ‘Tree’ ever since.
having the full feast & having family come in from out of town and ofcourse taking pictures like crazy and ending it with a nice movie and hot cocoa!

Making hot chocolate, cookies, and driving around looking at Christmas lights in a warm car listening to Christmas carols with family.
driving around to see all the beautiful lights, and then prayers for our freedom and thankful for what we have…
Every year my husband and ourbthree children do a 1,000 piece puzzle. The rule is everyone helps and all three kidsbare there for the last piece. We then get puzzle glue to glue it together and hang it on our wall. It’s neat to be able to see the puzzles we did together as a family hanging in our living room each time you walk in there!
We go as a family to get our tree and make homemade chocolate pudding while we decorate!
having our own 12 days of christmas where we open a ‘gift’ each day leading up to christmas. When we dont have 12 presents, we start where we need to. also, each of my 3 girls wear a different santa had each year, revealed only at christmas!
My favorite Christmas tradition has involved my work with our church youth group. Every year we adopt a family for Christmas. Teaching our youth the importance of humble giving through the collection and preparation of gifts, and the delivery to the family. The kids are blown away by the excitment they see in the family when we deliver the gifts. They have a new understanding that blessings are received in both giving and receiving, and every time are humbled by seeing such great need. It is a life changing experience every year. As I shop for gifts each year, the memories of these visits to the very poor of our community, helps me to keep in perspective the true meaning of Christmas. God Bless You this Christmas!
Sound of Music and Eggs Benedict!!!
Remembering the reason for the season, and thanking all those who are away from their loved ones at Christmas defending our country.
Watching the musical version of Scrooge, sending a puzzle to a precious family, reading a story about the song Silent Night and playing the song on a music box and cracking a pound of pecans for some dear friends…
Ever since my grandma got a waffle iron for Christmas, we make homemade waffles for breakfast on Christmas morning!
Seeing the Nutcracker at the Mid-Columbia Ballet and going on the Cruise to the North Pole in Coeur d’Alene!
Staying in PJ’s on Christmas morning and opening presents together.
Eating homemade coffee cake while the whole family goes through the stockings that were “hung by the chiminey with care” Having family together is the best thing…
We always bundle up to go to Clover Island and watch the lighted boat parade! Then it’s off to Burger Ranch for a burger & a candy cane shake! Furn every year!
sharing all the old christmas favorites-movies I loved as a kid with my kids now and just being together
community candlelight service with several churches coming together for carols and scriptures
The major celebration on Christmas Eve is the Holy Supper in our family. Holy Supper celebrations started with arrival of first star in evening sky. This star stands for the trekking of three wise men.All food was cooked by all members of the family.
The head of family brings sheaf of wheat, which is usually does our grandpa. It signifies the spirit of grandfather. The father is the first to say Christmas greeting
Well my family tradition is simple but its our thing. Every x-mas eve we allow the kids to open one gift; usually a small one. We prepare x-mas dinner, make sugar cookies with sparkles, and watch the all time x-mas movie;” A Christmas Story.” LOL we love that movie. Looking forward to it this year!
Just being with my kids and grandkids. Nothing is better than that!
Love to travel to the mountains to choose a christmas tree; then a little sledding, warm campfire and hot cocoa…..(yum!)
My favorite family tradition is opening presents with my in-laws!
Drinking my Nana’s home made egg nog with the family!
I love transforming the house into a cozy christmas wonderland. I love watching the kids faces as we unpack all of our Christmas Treasures and find places around the house to place each item. I love making cookies and wrapping presents. Singing Christmas songs and taking the time to enjoy the company of good friends and family.
This is the best place to find gifts for family and friends and something for myself!!
I miss waking up SUPER early Christmas morning and waking my parents up with my older brother. Now that we’re older and are starting families of our own, I’m enjoying my childs face when she sees the tree and presents left for her at Great Grandpas house where all the family gathers now. Next year I hope she and her new sibling will be waking us Christmas morning to start a new generation of excitement for Santa…
My twins are just now 4 so we started a new tradition, we make cookies the week leading up to chrismas then on christmas eve we get to cuddle and open one small gift.

The most amazing place I’ve ever been! I just moved here and visited the Mercantile about a month ago.
My favorite tradition for Christmas is: watching others be blessed, to see their eyes light up, to experience the joy, the expressions they feel on this blessed day we celebrate the birth of our savior.
Note: When I came to the Mercantile for the first time; I noticed the manager/owner (whomever it was), walking around the Mercantile in prayer, that’s all I needed to see to know thats where I’ll return.
Thank you Country Mercantile for standing for more than just your product!!!
pigs in a blanket for breakfast
Our favorite tradition is putting up the christmas tree with all the ornaments that are past and present, some from our kids made in grad school like a christmas bears cut out of paper and decorated to the macarroni strings to the ornaments we gave each other through the years from grandparents to the family. each ornament has such meaning and are with us even if they aren’t year after year.
